Dating from around 1659 the String of Horses is a traditional Coaching Inn set in one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain near Hadrian's Wall, The Lake District and the Scottish Borders. It is situated only 10 minutes from Carlisle and Junction 43 of the M6 Motorway With its oak beams and panelling, open fires and real ales, it's no wonder the String of Horses has provided a warm welcome to so many visitors from all over the world for more than 350 years.
All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, digital LCD TVs, free Wi-fi, luxury satin stripe bed linen and tea/coffee making facilities. Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property. We do not accept pets. Children welcome. Restaurant & Bar is closed on Mondays. Earliest Check-In time: 1400 and Latest Check-Out time: 1000.
