Lanercost Tea Room

Lanercost is an ideal place to ‘meet & eat’ with good, home cooked food our speciality. Our cakes are homemade too and our scones baked fresh every morning, we feel it’s the small things that matter so we like to get it right. We are open every day, come rain or shine, from 10.00 until 5.00 throughout the year*.

With seating for lunchtime dining, relaxed sofas and chairs to while away an afternoon with tea & cake you will be spoilt for choice as you browse through the menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal and we seem to appeal to all ages, our tea pots pour beautifully without a dribble in sight, our coffee is freshly ground, and for those on the move with emails to catch up on we even have free Wi-Fi too. We are fully licensed.

So whether you are looking for a main meal, light bite or simply a Cappuccino & Chocolate Cake then look no further. We have become quite a destination in our own right but we’re equally the best place to take a break on the West side of Hadrian’s Wall.

Our on site car park means it’s simple to get to us and as we are all on one level with no steps or stairs to negotiate, it’s just as easy to get around when you’re here.
