Hexham is often recognised as the jewel in Northumberland’s crown and is nestled in the very heart of Hadrian’s Wall Country – England’s largest Heritage site within the most northerly of National Parks. Vindolanda, Thirlwell Castle, a quarry wildlife park, The Roman Army Museum and Walltown Craggs – the highest remaining section of Hadrian’s Wall - are all interesting visitor attractions within easy reach.
