Horsley is the centre for a network of walks ranging from Horsley ancient wood to open countryside each with their distinctive mixture of flora and fauna. The village features two pubs, the Crown and Anchor (c1805), with a beer garden and the Lion and Lamb (c1718) with children's play area.
The most recent visitor attraction is the Hearth. The Hearth is a cluster of Artists Studios, created from the former church manse. The studios which are open by appointment feature ceramics, mixed media painting, a stringed instrument maker and Horsley Printmakers.
Visitors can enjoy refreshments and light snacks in the Hearth Coffee Shop which is set in the former manse with original feautres, and a garden with views over the Tyne Valley.
So, Horsley, a real attraction for walkers, arts aficonados, for those with a thirst and an appetite.
